Your network works only if you work it. Your network is your net worth!



We hear that all the time, but truly what does that mean to you as an entrepreneur? Networking is not selling your products and services all the time without offering value in return. I always recommend finding out what someone else needs first, finding out how you can help them. Ask yourself, do they need to know someone you know to help take their business to the next level? Is there a service you can offer at no cost to show them you value the relationship? I am not saying to give everything away, just to create a dialogue which will give that person a reason to want to talk with you because they will know you value their time and working relationship.

Have you ever thought about whom you surround yourself with on a regular basis? What type of “real” lifestyle your closest friends live? I bet you will find out you live in the same income bracket they do because we have a tendency to surround ourselves with others who are like-minded and make us “feel” comfortable about ourselves. What if you forced yourself to live outside of your level of comfortableness and started surrounding yourself with those who will stretch and grow you? This truly allows you to network with others who can help you take your mind, your family and your income to the next level. 

If you want to grow, surround yourself with people who have achieved the level of success you desire of who at least have the ability to move up and take you with them. I was hanging with a friend on the 4th of July and though we have been living in Atlanta the same exact time frame he truly seems to have a lot more success than I do at this point. Realizing that stretched me and forced my competitive spirit to want to grow! Now, I can’t wait to find ways to stretch my thinking and my way of doing things so that I might achieve the level of success I am striving for.
